About Mappleton Beach

Located just 3.5 miles South of Hornsea, Mappleton Beach is quiet and more secluded than other Yorkshire beaches that can often get busy during holiday season. Mappleton Beach is popular with those looking for somewhere to take a stroll or to walk the dogs.

Getting to Mappleton Beach

Mappleton Beach is located in the village of Mappleton, which is a quiet area of the East Yorkshire coastline.

The beach can easily be accessed from local towns and cities, including Hull, Beverley, York and Bridlington.

On foot

You can easily walk from Hornsea to Mappleton Beach without having to navigate busy roads or residential areas. You can stick to the sands and take in the stunning coastline during your walk.

By car

There is a public car park right next to the beach, just off Cliff Lane. This is the best place to park if you are visiting the beach as it’s only a stones throw away. You can use the address: Cliff Lane, Mappleton, Hornsea, HU18 1XX.

You can follow the A165 and then navigate to the village of Mappleton.

By bus

If you’re looking to travel to Mappleton Beach by bus, you should know that there are only 3 buses each day and the last bus is just after lunchtime. The bus travels between Hornsea and Withernsea, so we recommend combining a trip to Mappleton Beach with a day in either Hornsea or Withernsea.

You can check the timetable before you travel so you can plan your day.
