Getting to North Landing

Reaching North Landing is easy, either from the village of Flamborough, Thornwick Bay or from further afield.

On foot

North Landing is just over 1 mile from the village of Flamborough and can be reached by navigating down North Marine Road which is paved the whole way so suitable for those with young children.

You can also walk to North Landing from Thornwick Bay (0.7 miles), Selwicks Bay (1.5 miles) and South Landing (2 miles). The Cleveland Way trail is well signposted and is a great way to see the Yorkshire coastline.

By car

Getting to North Landing is easy by car, simply by heading out of Bridlington, through the village of Flamborough and continuing until you reach the coastline. You can drive close to North Landing by navigating to the public car park opposite the Caravel Bar (North Marine Road, Bridlington, YO15 1BJ). From here, you can walk down the slipway or steps onto the beach.

You need to head for the village of Flamborough which is accessible from both Scarborough and Bridlington.

Facilities at North Landing

There are plenty of facilities at North Landing to make a day of it with the family.

Toilets: The nearest toilets are located just by the Caravel Bar which is close to the public car park on North Marine Road. These are seasonal, and generally only open during peak season. There are toilets located in Caravel Bar if you are a customer.

Washing facilities: There are no showers (but you can wash off from the beach in the toilets).

Cafe’s/Restaurants: There’s a café located next to the public car park called the Caravel Bar and then there’s the Boathouse Burger and Grill located close to the beach itself. There’s also a couple of pubs within walking distance of North Landing beach.

Shops: The closest shop is located close to Flamborough Lighthouse which is just under 2 miles away (there is a car park next to the shop if you need to drive there.

Are dogs allowed on North Landing beach?

Dogs are allowed to be walked on North Landing beach and there are no restrictions at any time of year, making it a popular beach with dog walkers.

What is there to do at North Landing beach?

There are no activities to do at North Landing but it is a popular beach with families and water sports enthusiasts. There’s often children making sandcastles and playing with body boards in the water. It’s a great place to launch a paddleboard or a kayak as the bay is great for exploring on the water around the caves and cliffs.
