South Landing Beach

South Landing beach is part of Flamborough but is very much a beach of its own. The beach itself is large enough to accommodate families and groups who want a quieter beach experience.

About South Landing beach

South Landing beach is nestled between Selwicks Bay in Flamborough and Bridlington North Beach.

It’s popular with families, but rarely overcrowded.

Location

South Landing is close to Flamborough but separated from Selwicks Bay which is the nearest beach to Flamborough. Whilst Selwicks Bay is more rugged, South Landing beach is better for those looking to pitch up for a few hours.

Getting to South Landing

You can get to South Landing either by car or on foot from nearby Flamborough or Bridlington, depending on how you prefer to explore.

On foot

South Landing is on the Cleveland Way trail so easily accessible from Flamborough by walking along the coastline.

You can also come from the other direction of Bridlington which is further, but offers a great walking route. We recommend suitable footwear as a lot of the route is rugged terrain and uphill in nature.

There are no activities to do at South Landing but most of the beach is sandy, so you can always bring a bucket and spade. We recommend combining the Cleveland Way trail with a visit to South Landing, so you can explore more of Yorkshires beaches, including Thornwick Bay and Danes Dyke.
